Dr. Susan E. Ford attained her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Cook College, Rutgers University in 1975. Her course of study was Wildlife Biology with special interest in animal communication and behavior. She worked at the University for 5 years in avian and mosquito research when she discovered chiropractic care. She decided that she would become a chiropractor after experiencing the tremendous benefits of care and received her Doctor of Chiropractic in 1984. She has practiced in Mercer County for the last 22 years.
In 1998, Dr. Ford came across a new technique for the treatment of allergies called NAET or Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique. Having two healthy children, her third child seemed to have many more ear infections and digestive difficulties. Dr. Ford knew that there was more that could be done for her son. She began training in the NAET technique in 1999 and discovered that her son was allergic to calcium. When Dr. Ford ‘cleared’ him of that allergy, his sensitivity to dairy and soy products completely disappeared.
Another technique, Jaffee Mellor Technique (or JMT), was studied by Dr. Ford. This technique is very similar to NAET but has emphasis on symptoms from diseases such as Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lyme Disease and many more.
It is Dr. Ford's belief that healing takes place in the body once interference is removed. This can be done through chiropractic care, NAET or JMT. She believes that no one knows their body better than you and she listens to what you have to say without rushing. Appointments are made so that you have the time necessary for your care, and treatment is individualized. If necessary, theraputic modalities are used such as moist hot packs, ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation and massage. If Dr. Ford finds it necessary, she may recommend an appointment with Terri Cotto, a nationally certified massage therapist that shares her office.
